Sandbox escape via WebMIDI use-after-free
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in Google Chrome WebMIDI before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers to escape the Android renderer sandbox via crafted HTML. Google identifies WebMIDI as the affected component but has not published which object is freed too early or the operation that later reuses it. Exploitation requires user interaction with the page and prior renderer-process compromise; success grants execution outside the renderer sandbox.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
