Sandbox escape via Skia use-after-free
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in Skia in Google Chrome before 148.0.7778.216 allows remote attackers controlling a renderer to escape its sandbox. Google has not disclosed which Skia object is freed while still referenced or which operation later dereferences it. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page, user interaction, and prior compromise of the renderer process; the reported consequence is escape from that renderer sandbox.
