Unauthenticated order manipulation via forged 3DS callbacks
Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026
Insufficient callback verification in Rede Itaú for WooCommerce 5.1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter order statuses. The public 3DS success and failure handlers accept attacker-supplied transaction and order references, then update the referenced WooCommerce order without confirming the transaction with Rede. No authentication is required; a forged callback can mark an unpaid order as processing or completed, or mark a legitimate pending order as failed.
