Domain Administrator escalation via overpermissive certificate template
Published Feb 13, 2026 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Improper certificate validation in SafeNet Agent for Windows Logon 4.0.0, 4.1.1, and 4.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to gain Domain Admin. The bundled CreateCertTemplate.ps1 grants Authenticated Users enrollment on the WLAPwdlessLogon template while allowing requesters to supply certificate subjects for authentication. Passwordless Windows Logon with the vendor-provided AD CS setup must be deployed; exploitation permits certificate-based impersonation of privileged domain identities.
