Authenticated command execution via NTP CGI parameters
Published Jan 12, 2026 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
OS command injection in Merit LILIN IP camera firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands through NTP configuration. The apply.cgi timeserver field accepts backtick-delimited commands, getclock processes semicolon-separated NTP_SERVER input, and systemsetup forwards unvalidated detail data into ntpserver processing. Low-privileged device authentication is required; exploitation can transfer files, contact external systems, alter data, or disrupt camera operation across P2, P3, Z7, P6, V1, IPD, IPR, LD, and LR models.
