Deserialization of untrusted data in MetaGPT 0.8.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through crafted messages. The deserialize_message function passes user-supplied serialized data into deserialization without proper validation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation runs code with the service account's privileges.
