Unauthenticated post metadata modification via unchecked callback
Published Apr 16, 2026 · Updated Apr 16, 2026
Missing authorization in WPXPO PostX 5.0.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to modify share_count metadata via an HTTP request. The ultp_shareCount_callback() request handler updates the share_count post meta for a caller-selected post without a capability check. No authentication is required, and any post's counter can be changed, including counters on private or draft posts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
