Unauthenticated order manipulation via spoofed IPN origin
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Missing authorization in BlueSnap Payment Gateway for WooCommerce 3.4.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter order statuses via IPN requests. The validate_source method accepts WC_Geolocation::get_ip_address() as proof of origin even though proxy headers can control the returned address. No account is required; spoofing an allowlisted BlueSnap address permits forged notifications that mark orders paid, failed, refunded, or on hold.
