Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped button_text
Published Apr 4, 2026 · Updated Apr 4, 2026
Stored XSS in WP Royal Royal Addons for Elementor 1.7.1049 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via button_text. The REST API meta path accepts button_text without sufficient sanitization, and page rendering emits the stored value without output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes in each user's browser when the injected page is opened, exposing that user's session context.
