Remote code execution via unbounded sscanf parsing
Published Jan 6, 2026 · Updated Jan 6, 2026
Buffer overflow in Tenda AC23 16.03.07.52 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted PowerSaveSet request. PowerSaveSet passes the attacker-controlled time field to sscanf conversion directives that lack width limits, overflowing fixed-size destination buffers. The request must reach the router management interface; successful exploitation can execute code or crash the device.
