Author-level stored XSS via incomplete SVG sanitization
Published Jan 9, 2026 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Magazine3 AMP for WP 1.1.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through uploaded SVG files. The ampforwp_sanitize_svg_file function removes only script elements and preserves executable event-handler attributes, foreignObject content, and SVG animation attributes. Author-level access is required to upload a crafted SVG; its script runs in the affected site's origin when a user views the stored file.
