Authenticated internal access via unchecked proxy URLs
Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026
Server-side request forgery in Sonatype Nexus Repository 3.0.0 and later allows remote authenticated users to reach internal services. Proxy repository configuration accepts a remote storage URL without blocking private destinations, and an artifact request makes the server fetch that URL. Exploitation requires administrator privileges, a subsequent user request, and server connectivity to the target; resulting requests can expose cloud metadata or interact with internal services.
