Campaign analytics tampering via generic capability check
Published Jan 20, 2026 · Updated Jan 20, 2026
Missing authorization in WPDeveloper NotificationX 3.1.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to reset any campaign's analytics. The regenerate and reset REST routes accept an nx_id and authorize state-changing GET requests using only the generic edit_posts capability, without campaign ownership or object-level checks. Contributor-level access is sufficient to erase or regenerate analytics counters for campaigns the caller does not manage.
