Authenticated service crash via crafted email address
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Improper input validation in Elastic Kibana Email Connector allows remote authenticated users to crash Kibana via a crafted address. The connector processes a specially crafted email address without rejecting its malformed format, triggering excessive memory allocation. View-level privileges sufficient to execute connector actions are required, and the resulting outage persists for all users until Kibana is manually restarted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.17.29
