Improper input validation in Axis Communications AB AXIS OS 12.0.0 through 12.9.31 allows attackers to elevate ACAP privileges. Axis has not disclosed which installation input is improperly validated or how the installer assigns elevated permissions to a malicious package. Exploitation requires unsigned ACAP installation to be enabled and a victim with installation rights to install the attacker-supplied application.
