Local privilege escalation in Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect App 6.0, 6.2, and 6.3 allows local users to execute commands as SYSTEM or root. The affected client uses an untrusted executable or library search path, but Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed the specific process, path, or lookup operation. A local non-administrative account is sufficient; no special configuration or user interaction is required, and compromise grants administrative command execution.
