CVE-2026-0297

Privileged code execution via UDP handshake overflow

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Buffer overflow in Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect App 6.0, 6.2, and 6.3 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute privileged code. An out-of-bounds write occurs during the UDP tunnel handshake, but the vendor has not disclosed the malformed field, affected routine, or missing bounds check. No special configuration is required; a rogue gateway supplies the handshake directly, while a network-adjacent attacker must intercept it, and code runs as SYSTEM on Windows or root on macOS and Linux.
