Maintenance mode via crafted dataplane traffic
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Denial of service in PAN-OS network traffic processing allows attackers to force firewalls into maintenance mode via crafted dataplane traffic. Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed the specific dataplane parser or exceptional condition that mishandles the crafted network input. PAN-OS and Cloud NGFW need no special configuration and repeated attempts are required; Prisma Access requires authentication and restricts external dataplane access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
