CVE-2026-0280Network attack vector

Firewall policy bypass via incorrect IPv6 sizing

Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Incorrect buffer-size calculation in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS and Prisma Access allows remote attackers to bypass IPv6 firewall policy. The dataplane's IPv6 packet-processing path calculates a buffer size incorrectly, causing policy enforcement to pass traffic that a configured rule should block. Exposure requires IPv6 on at least one firewall interface; successful traffic can reach protected services without altering or interrupting the firewall itself.
