SYSTEM code execution via Portal-Gateway message overflow
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect App and UWP App allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute SYSTEM code. The apps write beyond a buffer while processing Portal-Gateway requests and responses; Palo Alto Networks has not identified the routine or message field. No special configuration or user interaction is required, and exploitation can interrupt system processes or execute code with SYSTEM privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
