CVE-2026-0227Network attack vector

Unauthenticated firewall maintenance mode via undisclosed GlobalProtect flaw

Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026

Improper exceptional-condition handling in PAN-OS and Prisma Access allows remote attackers to interrupt firewall service. Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed which GlobalProtect gateway or portal operation mishandles the exceptional condition. Only configurations with an enabled GlobalProtect gateway or portal are exposed; repeated triggering forces the firewall into maintenance mode.
