Local information disclosure via incomplete factory reset
Published Jun 16, 2026 · Updated Jun 16, 2026
Information disclosure in Google Android's Recovery component allows local users to read data retained after a factory reset. Google identifies a logic error in PostWipeData of recovery_ui.cpp that permits device-specific data to remain when the reset completes. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access after a reset; no user interaction or additional execution privileges are needed, and the consequence is limited to disclosure of retained data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
