CVE-2026-0119

Physical privilege escalation via baseband buffer overwrite

Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in the Shannon baseband of Google Android allows physically proximate attackers to escalate privileges without authentication. The usim_SendMCCMNCIndMsg function in usim_Registration.c writes beyond its intended buffer and corrupts memory. Physical access is required, but neither prior execution privileges nor user interaction is needed; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges on affected devices.
