Remote privilege escalation via incorrect buffer bounds check
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
An out-of-bounds write in the Android kernel on affected Pixel devices allows remote attackers to escalate privileges without user interaction. ns_GetUserData in ns_SmscbUtilities.c uses an incorrect bounds check before writing remotely supplied data, allowing the write to cross the intended buffer boundary. No prior privileges are required, and successful exploitation grants elevated execution on the affected device.
