Missing authorization in Android 17 Package Manager allows local users to bypass the device lock controller and elevate privileges. Package Manager omits a permission check when handling the device lock controller path, allowing an unprivileged caller to cross its authorization boundary. Exploitation requires local access but no user interaction or additional execution privileges; Google has not disclosed a more specific code locus.
