Local privilege escalation via late FF-A handle reservation
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Memory corruption in Android's protected KVM kernel component allows local users to elevate privileges without user interaction. In arch/arm64/kvm/hyp/nvhe/ffa.c, __do_ffa_mem_xfer commits an FF-A memory transfer to the Trusted Zone before confirming that the host handle store has a free entry, forcing an unsafe rollback when the store is full. Exploitation requires local code execution but no additional execution privileges, and successful corruption grants higher privileges on an affected device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
