Stored script execution via unsanitized admin settings
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Stored XSS in Broadstreet for WordPress 1.53.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through admin settings. The public advisory identifies insufficient sanitization and output escaping for stored admin-setting values but does not name the affected setting, file, or function. Administrator-level access is required, and only multisite sites or sites with unfiltered_html disabled are exposed; injected scripts execute when a user opens an affected page.
