Subscriber-level advertiser creation via unchecked AJAX action
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Improper authorization in the Broadstreet plugin for WordPress 1.53.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create advertisers. The create_advertiser AJAX action processes requests without checking the caller's WordPress capability before creating an advertiser. Any authenticated Subscriber-level account can reach the action and add advertiser records, but no broader data access or privilege escalation is reported.
