Stored script execution via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Oct 24, 2025 · Updated Oct 24, 2025
Stored XSS in Jeg Kit for Elementor before 2.7.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through an uploaded SVG file. The XML-RPC wp.uploadFile path accepts image/svg+xml content without sanitizing embedded script, then stores it under the public uploads path. Author-level credentials and a subsequent request to the uploaded SVG are required; execution remains in the visiting browser's origin context.
