CVE-2025-9973

Cross-organization account takeover via unchecked tenant context

Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026

Incorrect authorization in WSO2 Identity Server before 7.1.0.26 allows remote authenticated users to access accounts across organizations. UpdateUserPasswordFunctionImpl derives the target tenant from the supplied username without verifying it against the adaptive-authentication flow's organization. Adaptive authentication must be enabled in a multi-organization deployment, and the attacker needs permission to configure a flow in one organization; the flaw then permits password changes and account takeover in another.
