Root compromise via overprivileged exposed processes

Improper privilege management in Novakon P Series HMI through P-V2005 allows attackers to gain root privileges after service compromise. The user-facing iFACE_RT and PSeriesbiosinterface processes, like most device processes, execute as root instead of restricted service accounts. Exploitation first requires compromise of one of these services; successful code execution then inherits unrestricted control of the HMI.
