CVE-2025-9901Network attack vector

Sensitive-data disclosure via ignored Vary header

Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2026

Improper cache validation in SoupCache on affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases allows remote attackers to disclose cached sensitive data. The soup_cache_has_response() function omits the HTTP Vary comparison and reuses a cached response for requests whose relevant headers differ. Exploitation requires an application to enable SoupCache and is most consequential in proxy or multi-user environments, where one request can receive another user's content.
