Stored script injection via forged settings request
Published Sep 20, 2025 · Updated Sep 20, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Browser Sniff 2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to store malicious scripts through forged settings requests. Missing or incorrect nonce validation lets an unnamed settings function accept attacker-controlled updates; no function or parameter is publicly disclosed. A site administrator must be tricked into submitting the request, after which the stored script executes in an administrative browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
