SYSTEM code execution via unqualified cmd.exe lookup
Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Uncontrolled search path handling in Salesforce CLI before 2.106.6 on Windows allows attackers to execute code through its installer. The installer invokes cmd.exe without a trusted absolute path, allowing a malicious executable in its local directory to run instead. Exploitation requires execution of an installer obtained from an untrusted source, and the substituted executable can gain SYSTEM-level access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
