Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via unchecked path
Published Sep 1, 2025 · Updated Sep 1, 2025
Path traversal in SimStudioAI Sim ed9b9ad83f1a7c61f4392787fb51837d34eeb0af allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary host files. The /api/files/delete POST handler decodes or extracts filePath and sends it to local or cloud deletion without verifying that the target remains inside authorized storage. A valid session is required; a crafted traversal path can remove files accessible to the service account and interrupt dependent workloads.
