Unauthenticated stored XSS via comment link rewriting
Published Oct 6, 2025 · Updated Oct 6, 2025
Stored XSS in dFactory Responsive Lightbox & Gallery before 2.5.3 allows remote attackers to inject scripts through comments. When comment lightboxing is enabled, its link-attribute rewriting accepts a crafted anchor that breaks attribute boundaries and preserves an autofocus onfocus handler. Execution occurs after the comment is approved and a user views it, allowing the injected JavaScript to run in that visitor's browser.
