Improper permission preservation in NetworkManager allows local users to use another user's certificate or private key through a connection profile. The root-running daemon and VPN plugins follow credential file paths supplied by a non-root profile owner without enforcing that user's filesystem access. Exploitation requires a multi-user Linux host and permission to create or modify a connection; it grants use of local credentials but not code execution.
