CVE-2025-9614

Cross-domain data exposure via stale posted writes

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025

Improper integrity validation in PCI Express IDE allows attackers to expose or overwrite data across trusted domains through stale writes. During device rebinding, a security module that fails to flush or re-key an IDE stream can deliver delayed MMIO or DMA writes from the prior context to the newly bound one. Exploitation requires control of low-level PCIe traffic, such as a malicious programmable switch, and affects confidentiality or integrity rather than availability.
