Authenticated command execution via unsanitized upload filename
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Aug 28, 2025
OS command injection in Linksys RE6250, RE6300, RE6350, RE6500, RE7000, and RE9000 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The cgiMain function in /cgi-bin/upload.cgi passes the attacker-controlled multipart filename directly to an operating-system command without neutralizing command syntax. A valid web-management session is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the upload handler's device privileges, enabling a shell and alteration or interruption of the extender.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
