Stored XSS via unescaped qs_date shortcode output
Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the qs_date shortcode in Redirection for Contact Form 7 3.2.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. The shortcode handler passes its format attribute to PHP date() and returns the generated value without sanitizing the attribute or escaping output. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the script executes in the browser of anyone who opens the injected page, enabling page-context data access or actions.
