Code execution via unchecked PB-ADV payload length
Published Nov 26, 2025 · Updated Nov 26, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Zephyr RTOS 4.2 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt memory via Bluetooth Mesh PB-ADV. In pb_adv.c, gen_prov_start trusts the packet-supplied total length and copies buf->len bytes into link.rx.buf without checking the destination capacity. The target must expose the PB-ADV provisioning bearer to a nearby unauthenticated sender; successful corruption permits arbitrary code execution or a device crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
