CVE-2025-9526Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked rm_port copy

Published Aug 27, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in Linksys E1700 firmware 1.0.0.4.003 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The setSysAdm function in mod_form.so copies the rm_port form value into a fixed-size stack buffer without a length check, overwriting its return address. Access requires valid router-administration credentials; an oversized HTTP POST can crash the router or redirect execution.
