Stored XSS via unescaped legacy shortcode title
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Stored XSS in Daniel Iser Popup Maker 1.20.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through popup titles. The legacy Easy Modal v2 [modal] shortcode compatibility handler outputs its title parameter without escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes in the site origin whenever affected content is rendered.
