Stored XSS via unsanitized XML-RPC SVG upload
Published Sep 22, 2025 · Updated Sep 22, 2025
Stored XSS in Bowo Admin and Site Enhancements before 7.9.8 allows remote authenticated users to store script-bearing SVG files. The XML-RPC wp.uploadFile path accepts SVG content containing script without applying the sanitization expected for enabled SVG uploads. An administrator must enable SVG Upload and permit the attacker's role to upload SVG files; opening an uploaded file executes its script.
