Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Human Resource Information System 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute code without authentication. The Superadmin employee-edit handler accepts employee_file201 without extension, MIME-type, or content validation, then stores it under a predictable name in a web-accessible directory. An unauthenticated request can therefore place and invoke a PHP payload with the web server's privileges.
