Database disclosure via unescaped orderby query
Published Sep 11, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
SQL injection in Smartcat Translator for WPML 3.1.72 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract WordPress database data. TranslationRequestFinder inserts the user-controlled orderby value into an existing SQL query without sufficient escaping or preparation. Author-level access or higher is required, and time-based query behavior exposes sensitive database information without modifying it.
