Authenticated service crash via unchecked account name
Published Aug 26, 2025 · Updated Aug 26, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda CH22 firmware 1.0.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted account name. The formeditUserName handler at /goform/editUserName copies the new_account request value into a memory buffer without checking its length. Access to the router management interface and low-privileged authentication are required; successful exploitation interrupts service and can corrupt process memory.
