Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Stored XSS in Trustindex Widgets for Google Reviews 13.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The trustindex shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes and renders them without sufficient sanitization and output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script executes when a visitor opens an affected page, enabling actions in that visitor’s browser context.
