Privilege escalation via traversed home-directory creation
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Path traversal in the User Management module of Zoho Corporation ADManager Plus before 7230 allows remote authenticated users to create directories. The homeDirectory parameter accepts traversal sequences and creates the requested home-folder path without confining it to an intended directory. A technician with user-modification rights and local server logon can create a writable JRE extension directory, place a DLL there, and gain the service account's privileges after restart.
