CVE-2025-9380Public exploit

Root shell access via embedded administrator credentials

Published Aug 24, 2025 · Updated Aug 25, 2025

Hard-coded root credentials in FNKvision Y215 CCTV Camera firmware 10.194.120.40 allow local users to obtain a root shell. The encoder and wifidaemon binaries generate /etc/passwd and /etc/group with the same embedded administrator username and DES-derived password. A local user with UART access can authenticate with those credentials and gain unrestricted control of the camera's embedded Linux environment.
